In March 2025, we received a heartfelt nomination from a cancer care specialist nurse from Tyne and Wear for Emma, a 32-year-old mother of two from County Durham.
Emma was facing a terminal breast cancer diagnosis and had been given a short time to live. Just two days after the nomination, we approved Emma and her partner, Daniel, for the Gift of a Wedding.
Emma and Daniel met through friends in 2010 and became inseparable from that moment. Their love story, built over 15 years, deserved a beautiful celebration. On 9th May 2025, surrounded by close friends and family, Emma and Daniel exchanged vows in an intimate and emotional ceremony. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Emma sadly passed away on 5th August 2025.
We were honoured to help create a moment of joy in Emma’s final months. Her story reminds us why we do what we do.
